Porting - How to Get a Transfer PIN from Your Current Provider

If you're switching to Voiply and want to keep your current phone number, you'll need to get a Transfer PIN (also called a Port-Out PIN) from your current provider. This PIN allows your number to be released and successfully moved over to Voiply.

Here’s how to get your Transfer PIN based on your current provider:

📱 Verizon Wireless

How to Get Your Transfer PIN:

  • Dial #PORT from your Verizon mobile phone.

  • You’ll receive a text message with your Transfer PIN.

✅ Tip: The PIN expires in 7 days, so be sure to submit your port request soon after receiving it.


📱 AT&T / Cingular Wireless

Options to Get Your Transfer PIN:

  1. Dial *PORT from your AT&T mobile phone.

  2. Use the myAT&T app: Go to My Profile > People & Permissions > Wireless passcode & Transfer PIN.

  3. Log in to your myAT&T online account and look under My Profile.

✅ Tip: Make sure your account details are accurate to avoid any delays.


📱 T-Mobile / Metro PCS

How to Request Your Transfer PIN:

  • Dial *PORT from your T-Mobile or Metro PCS phone.

  • Follow the voice prompts to receive your PIN via text or access it through your T-Mobile online account.

✅ Tip: You may be asked to verify your account during the process—have your account information ready.


💻 Skype (Skype for Business)

How to Get a Skype Port-Out PIN:

  • If your number is with Skype for Business, your admin can log into the Skype Admin Center.

  • Navigate to: Voice > Port Orders to create a Port-Out PIN.

✅ Note: If you don’t have admin access, contact your IT department or whoever manages your Skype account.


📝 Final Checklist Before You Submit

  • ✅ Make sure your account number and billing ZIP code match your current provider’s records.

  • ✅ Include the Transfer PIN with your porting request.

  • ✅ Submit the request as soon as possible after obtaining the PIN to avoid expiration.
