Troubleshooting - How to Perform a Network Test for Voiply Services

To ensure the best call quality and experience with Voiply, it’s essential to verify that your network is optimized for VoIP.

This guide walks you through two important tests:
Speed Test – To check your internet speed and connection quality.

SIP ALG Test – To detect if a common router feature is interfering with your VoIP service.

🚀 Step 1: Run a Speed Test

Use our official speed test tool to check your connection:

🔗 Click here to run the Speed Test

✅ Minimum Recommended Results:

  • Download Speed: At least 10 Mbps

  • Upload Speed: At least 5 Mbps

  • Ping (Latency): Less than 50 ms

  • Jitter: Less than 25 ms

⚠️ Call issues such as dropped audio or delays can be caused by poor jitter, high latency, or insufficient bandwidth.

🛠️ Step 2: Check for SIP ALG

SIP ALG (Session Initiation Protocol Application Layer Gateway) is a router feature that often interferes with VoIP traffic. It must be disabled for Voiply services to work reliably.

🔗 Click here to download the SIP ALG Detector (Windows only)

💡 This tool is compatible with Windows computers. For Mac or Linux, consult your router’s manual or contact your internet provider to verify or disable SIP ALG.

How to Use:

  1. Download and run the .exe file on a Windows machine.

  2. Let the tool scan your network.

  3. Review the result:

    • TRUE = SIP ALG is enabled ❌ (Needs to be disabled)

    • FALSE = SIP ALG is disabled ✅ (Good to go!)

If SIP ALG is Enabled (TRUE):

You’ll need to log in to your router settings and disable SIP ALG. If you need help, refer to your router's manual or contact your ISP for assistance.
