SIP ALG (Session Initiation Protocol Application Layer Gateway) is a feature enabled by default on AT&T modems that can interfere with VOIP phone functionality, causing issues such as dropped calls, registration failures, or one-way audio. To ensure optimal Voiply service, follow the steps below to disable SIP ALG on your AT&T Arris BGW320-500 or BGW530-900 modem.
Step-by-Step Guide to Disable SIP ALG
Step 1: Connect to Your AT&T Modem
- Plug a computer directly into one of the three Yellow Ethernet ports on your AT&T modem.
- Open a web browser and enter 192.168.1.254 in the address bar.
- Locate the Username and Password on the barcode sticker (found on the back or side of the modem) and use them to log in.
Step 2: Disable SIP ALG
- Navigate to Firewall > Firewall Advanced.
- If prompted, enter the Device Access Code, which is printed on the modem’s barcode sticker.
- Find the SIP ALG setting and change it to OFF.
Step 3: Save the Changes
- Click SAVE to apply the new settings.
- Restart your Voiply phone or device to ensure the changes take effect.
Additional Notes
- If Voiply phone issues persist after disabling SIP ALG, consider restarting both your modem and Voiply device.
- Ensure that any firewall or NAT settings on your modem are not blocking Voiply traffic.
- If you need further assistance, contact Voiply Support or AT&T Support.
By following these steps, you can help ensure a stable and reliable Voiply connection on your AT&T modem.
