How to Get Your Porting Information from Verizon

If you're moving your wireless number from Verizon to another service provider, you’ll need your account number, a Number Transfer PIN (NTP), and a recent Verizon wireless bill. Verizon also has some specific requirements you must follow before your number can be ported. This guide walks you through exactly what to do.

1. How to Find Your Verizon Account Number

You can find your Verizon wireless account number in two places.

On your paper bill

• Look at the top of your monthly Verizon bill
• Your account number will appear near the top of the first page

In your My Verizon account

  1. Sign in at verizon.com or open the My Verizon app

  2. Go to your Profile

  3. Your account number will appear at the top of the page

Verizon Prepaid

Prepaid account numbers are not available online or on bills.
• Contact Verizon Prepaid Support to get your account number.

2. How to Get Your Verizon Number Transfer PIN (NTP)

A Number Transfer PIN (NTP) is required anytime you want to move your Verizon number to another provider. Each NTP is unique to each line you are porting out.

Important rules you should know

• You must keep your Verizon account open and active until the transfer completes
• If Number Lock is enabled on your line, you must disable it before porting
• Verizon will send a confirmation text to the mobile number when a port-out is requested
• NTPs are valid for 7 days
• You can generate an NTP up to 5 times per line per day
• Do not generate a new NTP if the previous one was already given to another carrier — it can interrupt the port
• You must be an authorized user on the account to generate an NTP
