Premier - How Do I Set Up Music on Hold for My Business Phone?
Keep callers engaged while they wait by adding hold music or a custom voice message to your Voiply Premier account.
Music on Hold lets you play audio for callers who are placed on hold. You can upload your own audio file or use the built-in text-to-speech tool to create a custom spoken message. You can also add multiple files and set how often they play.
How to Get There
- Go to voiply.com/portal/login and sign in. If you use a Magic Link, check your email for the login link.
- From your dashboard, scroll down to the Features section.
- Click Music on Hold.

Option 1: Upload an Audio File
Use this option if you already have a music or audio file saved on your computer.
- Click the Upload tab.
- In the File Name field, type a name for your file. This is just for your reference, so something simple like "hold-music" works fine.
- Click Choose File and select your audio file. The portal accepts .mp3 and .wav files.
- Click Upload to save it.
Your file will appear in the audio file list once it's added. 
Option 2: Create a Spoken Message with Text-to-Speech
Use this option if you'd like a custom spoken message for callers, like "Thank you for holding. We'll be right with you." The portal will turn your typed text into a voice recording automatically.
- Click the TTS tab.
- In the File Name field, type a name for this recording.
- Open the Voice dropdown and choose the voice you'd like. There are five options:
- Roger — Laid-Back, Casual, Resonant (Male)
- Sarah — Mature, Reassuring, Confident (Female)
- Laura — Enthusiast, Quirky Attitude (Female)
- Charlie — Deep, Confident, Energetic (Male)
- George — Warm, Captivating Storyteller (Male)
- In the Script Text box, type the message you want callers to hear. You have up to 500 characters.
- Click Generate Preview to hear how it sounds. The recording is saved automatically once the preview is generated.
Your recording will appear in the audio file list once it's ready. 
Adjust Your Playback Settings
Once you have at least one audio file added, you can also fine-tune how it plays.
- Interval — This sets how many seconds of hold music play before your message (or the next file) plays. The default is 30 seconds. You can change it to anywhere from 15 to 110 seconds using the dropdown.
- Randomize — If you have more than one audio file, turn this toggle on to play them in a random order instead of the same order every time.
