Understanding Voiply Fees: Emergency 911, Information Services, Regulatory & Federal Program Fees

At Voiply, we're committed to keeping our pricing simple, transparent, and easy to understand. While reviewing your monthly bill, you may notice a few standard service fees. These are not government taxes, but fees used to support important services and ensure our compliance with regulations that allow us to provide you with reliable, high-quality phone service.

🚨 Emergency 911 & Information Services Fee

What it covers:

This fee helps support two essential services:

  • 911 Emergency Service: Voiply must comply with FCC requirements to ensure you have access to emergency services. We invest in technology that enables public safety personnel to locate and assist you when you call 911 from your registered address.

  • Directory Assistance (411): This also includes unlimited access to local directory assistance within the United States and Canada.

Important Note: This is a Voiply fee, not a government-imposed charge.

🛡️ Regulatory, Compliance & Intellectual Property (RCIP) Fee

What it covers:

This fee supports several behind-the-scenes costs that help us deliver a secure and innovative phone service, including:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring Voiply meets standards set by agencies like the FCC and FTC.

  • Customer Protection: Safeguarding your information through anti-fraud systems and privacy protections.

  • Number Portability: Making it easy to transfer your number to or from Voiply without interruption.

  • Innovation & IP Security: Covering the cost of patents, trademarks, and legal protections that support continued innovation.

Important Note: This is not a government-mandated fee. It’s assessed by Voiply to maintain the quality and safety of our services.

🇺🇸 Federal Program Fee

What it covers:

This fee helps recover costs related to Voiply’s participation in federal communications programs:

  • Federal Universal Service Fund (USF): Supports access to communication services for schools, libraries, rural areas, and low-income families.

  • Telecommunications Relay Service (TRS) Fund: Helps individuals with hearing or speech disabilities use phone services.

  • Federal Regulatory Fee: A required contribution to fund the operations of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Important Note: Some components of this fee are federally mandated, while others help Voiply meet its compliance obligations.
