Setting Up the Voiply Recommended Router (Opal)
A step-by-step guide on how to set up your Opal Router - GL-SFT1200
Welcome to Your New Router!
Congratulations on getting your Voiply Opal router! It’s already pre-provisioned, so setting it up will be quick and easy. Follow the steps below to get started.

Note: Before we begin, please ensure you have received all the necessary components with your Opal router, including:

The router unit
-
A power adapter (white box with a cord)
-
An Ethernet cable (looks like a thicker phone cord)
Step 1: Unboxing – Like Opening a Present!
Carefully take out all the items in the box. You should find:

1x Opal Router
-
1x Power Adapter
-
1x Ethernet Cable
📌 Important:
Look at the back of the Opal router and note the following:

MAC Address
-
Serial Number
-
Device ID
You can either:
-
Take a picture of the label
-
Or type the details in chat/email to share with Voiply Support
This helps avoid mistakes in setup.
Step 2: Powering Up
Plug the power adapter into a power outlet and connect it to the router.
Wait about 1 minute for the router to fully turn on.
Step 3: Connect to Your Internet
Using the Ethernet cable:

Plug one end into the LAN port of your main internet router

Plug the other end into the WAN port on the Opal router
📶 This allows the Opal to receive internet from your home network.
Step 4: Connect Your Device to the Opal Router
Choose how you’d like to connect:
✅ WiFi Connection
On your device (computer, phone, tablet):

Go to WiFi settings
-
Connect to GL-SFT1200-xxx
(⚠️ Do NOT choose the one that ends with -5G) -
Use password:
goodlife
✅ Wired Connection
If you’re using a computer with an Ethernet port:

Plug your computer's Ethernet cable into the LAN port on the Opal router
Step 5: Access the Opal Router Settings

Open a web browser on the connected device

In the address bar, type:
192.168.8.1
-
Press Enter
You’ll now see the router’s login/setup screen.
Select English then click Next to continue.
Step 6: Set Admin Password
You’ll be asked to set a new admin password.

(Write this down! It's needed for future support access.)
Step 7: Enable Remote Access via GoodCloud

On the left menu, click: Applications > Remote Access

On the right, do the following:

✅ Turn ON GoodCloud

✅ Enable Remote Web
-
✅ Set Data Server to America
-
✅ Accept Terms of Service
-
✅ (Optional) Enable Remote SSH if the Apply button is not active

Click Apply
📡 Once completed, Voiply can manage your router remotely through GoodCloud.
✅ Setup Complete!
Great job! Your Opal Router is now online and ready to use. Make sure you’ve shared your MAC address, serial number, and device ID with Voiply Support so we can finalize your Voiply Shield service.
