988 National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
If you or someone you know needs support, you can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at any time by dialing 988 from your Voiply number.

Calling 988
All Voiply users assigned a US phone number can reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by dialing 988. The Lifeline is also still reachable by dialing 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
10-Digit Dialing for US Calls
All Voiply users assigned a US phone number are required to dial 10 digits (area code + telephone number) for every call, whether local or long distance.
Why is 10-digit dialing required?
To make sure 988 routes correctly to the Lifeline, the FCC requires all phone providers to use 10-digit dialing nationwide. This prevents any local number starting with 988 from being accidentally routed to the Lifeline instead.
What you need to do
- Dial the area code + telephone number for all calls
- Update any saved contacts, customer records, or call forwarding settings that still use 7-digit numbers to include the full 10-digit format
What stays the same
- Your phone number and area code
- Emergency and special service numbers (911, 711)
- Domestic and international calling rates
